Cemetery records can be a valuable source of genealogical
information. Your Family History Project cannot be complete
without knowing the lifespan and final resting places of your
beloved ancestors. Cemetery records are a good source with
which to discover these important details and many other
important family clues.
For example, it was not uncommon for children to be born and
then pass away between one census enumeration and the next.
These children can be easily overlooked and unknown. Many of
the cemetery listings for infants indicate the child’s
parents, making it possible for you to more thoroughly fill
out your family tree.
Fortunately, Joan Woodhull has compiled the known Pike County,
Indiana cemetery listings and had them printed in conjunction
with the Pike County Historical Society. The compiled cemetery
listings have been bound in folders on photocopied pages. The
folders are organized by township and sold by the Pike County
Historical Society. They are individually priced.
